Zirbad literally means «the lands beneath the wind», a derivative of the Persian term «Zirbâded». This name was given by the sailors and explorers trading Asian spices to the islands in South East Asia between Malaysia and Papua. The boat was built in Sulawesi and launched in 2010. Inspired by the design of traditional Indonesian fishing boats (lambo rig). She is a beautiful 18-meter vessel made of tropical wood and is light and fast. Her shallow draught allows her to get very close to shore. Zirbad is a pleasant boat, devoted to adventures and adventurers. She has already sailed most of South East Indonesia seas and is always seeking for new amazing sites on land and at sea.
Zirbad follows the seasons from East to West and West to East between Gilis and Timor sailing through Flores and Sumba.
The shared cabin sleeps 6 people (2 double beds and 2 single beds) under a removable roof which enables guests to sleep under the stars. The cockpit at the back is a wide and cozy squared shaped space perfect for relaxing and feasting. It’s also possible to sleep there and fell the breeze. There is a detached galley, comfort WC and shower.
