The Timor Sparrow, (Lonchura fuscata) also known as Timor Dusky Sparrow is a small, approximately 14cm long, plump dark brown songbird with a large silvery-blue bill, white cheek, pink feet and creamy-white belly. Both sexes are similar.

Its appearance resembles the closely related Java Sparrow but is smaller than the latter and has different colored plumage. The Timor Sparrow inhabits to grasslands and lowlands of West Timor, Semau and Rote Island of Indonesia, and East Timor. The diet consists mainly of rice and seeds.

Due to ongoing habitat loss, limited range and illegal trapping for cage-bird trade, the Timor Sparrow is evaluated as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Some taxonomists place this species and th Java Sparrow in their own genus, Padda.

The Western Alpine Mannikin (Lonchura montana) also known as Snow Mountain Mannikin or Western Alpine Munia is a small, approximately 11.5 cm long, estrildid finch. Both sexes are similar with dark brown plumage, black face, buff chest and black-barred white abdomen. The young has black bill, dark brown plumage and buffy-white below.

An Indonesian endemic, the Western Alpine Mannikin is distributed in alpine grassland of Snow Mountains and Star Mountains in western New Guinea. It usually found in flocks of six to twenty birds. The diet consists mainly of seeds, grasses and other vegetation matters.

A common species in its limited habitat range, the Western Alpine Mannikin is evaluated as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

The Black-breasted Mannikin or Black-breasted Munia (Lonchura teerinki) is a species of estrildid finch found in West Papua, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 20,000 to 50,000 km². It is found in subtropical/ tropical lowland dry shrubland and high altitude grassland habitat. The status of the species is Least Concern.

The Black Mannikin or Black Munia (Lonchura stygia) is a species of estrildid finch found in New Guinea, from Mandum (Papua, formerly known as Irian Jaya, Indonesia) to Lake Daviumbu, Papua New Guinea. It is commonly found in flocks of maximum 20 birds, inhabiting savannas, wetlands, but sometimes they were also seen at rice crops.

The Grey-banded Mannikin or Grey-banded Munia, (Lonchura vana) is a species of estrildid finch is known to be found in Anggi Gigi, Tamrau Mountains and Arfak Mountains in the Vogelkop Peninsula in north-west Papua, Indonesia. This species inhabits at mid-mountain wet grassland and marshland. It also can be found at abandoned agricultural plots, near human settlements.
