Selang-Resort_to-800

This romantic resort is situated in the rain shadow of holy mountains Agung, Lempuyang and Seraya in gulf directly above sea level on magical north-east coast of Bali island.

The whole complex, whose bases are bungalows with traditional grassy roofs, was projected and built in very steep land. A large number of stone platforms is covered by incredibly colored tropical vegetation, which creates magical scenes for all sections of the resort – bungalows, swimming pool with bar and sunbeds, bowers for relaxation and massages, restaurant and other parts. You can enjoy unique sea view which you are able to find only there. You can see playful dolphins or whales on their regular food migration with a bit of luck. In Selang Resort you can find many quiet nooks for your holiday relaxation, reading, dreaming but there are also many possibilities for active vacation.

Location

Beaches lined with thousands of jukungs (ships with balance levers of local fishermans). Bizarre edges of lava flows spring from the foggy virgin forest with tree ferns and vamooses into the tropical sea. Valleys with many rise fields, mineral springs rising from the ground, traditional customs and hindu ceremonies of laughing natives. Incredibly colored coral reefs with a lot of other bizarre animals, exactly directly in front of the hotel, which waiting also for you… It is very difficult to describe this area, but definitelly you are not able to find discotheques, branded shops and rich offers of mass tourist industry there. If you want to relax or find out something about the life of local fishermans or farmers, traditional weddings, funerals and coloury religious ceremonies, by snorkeling or diving dip under the sea level or try to go to trip with local fisherman, THAN YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT PLACE!

JED Village Ecotourism Network

http://www.indonesiaorganic.com/detail.php?id=416&cat=99

Explore the forgotten parts of Bali
with JED Jaringan Ekowisata Desa Village Ecotourism NetworkJED, a small ecotourism network owned and run by four villages in Bali and a Balinese environmental NGO, the Wisnu Foundation.

Far from the towering hotels and throbbing nightclubs Bali is often associated with, life continues as usual in the villages. However the unique Bali blend of Hinduism and Animism, the stunning scenery and the welcoming people make the Balinese village far from ‘usual’.

JED aims to diversify and supplement the village livelihoods, support environmental education and planning in the villages and strengthen village pride in local culture and traditions.

For visitors, this means a unique opportunity to join the Balinese in their villages and learn about village life and environments from the local perspective.

Day trips to each village (although in some cases you can squeeze two into one day) include transport, a local guide, a Balinese lunch and snacks (dinner and breakfast for overnight stays).

Profits go directly to the villages for community development and environmental conservation activities.

In general, a day trip to a village for two costs around US$75.00 per person (we do have group special prices).
