General
The Pulau Burung Nature Reserve comprises an area of 200 ha. and has been
established for the protection of sea turtles and sea birds. Pulau Burung lies
near the coast of mainland Riau, 10 km north of the Sungai Gungtung village.
The reserve consists of mangrove forest and also includes a brackish water
lake.
